5) Should we stop using the term “half-siblings?”
In our episode this past week with Rachel Sobel in which she bravely shares her personal story of life after divorce, she makes it clear that she doesn’t want anyone referring to her daughters (from different fathers) as half-siblings. This was definitely very eye-opening for me and something I hadn’t really considered before. 4) Romantic “Stranger” Encounters….
In the “Spice It Up” episode, we discuss the idea of pretending to be strangers in a bar even though you’re actually married. When I polled online Marriage and Martinis community, only 46% said they would have the courage and desire to try this in their own relationship. Some of those who said they would, answered that they would pretend to be:
Someone with no kids who was out looking for a one night stand
An escort or hot tinder date
An adventurer traveling and looking for excitement
A best-selling romance author

3) Your Kid's Gonna Be Okay
I know a lot of people are really excited to get their kids back in school. I get really depressed at the end of the summer, because I’m anticipating homework battles, early morning wakeups, and so much BTS paperwork. I asked Michael Delman from Beyond Book Smart, an executive functions coach and author of the book, “Your Kid’s Gonna Be Okay,” to come on and talk to us about ways we can make this coming school year less stressful for our kids and for us as parents. He gives so many great tips about homework, organization and motivation, and I can’t wait to start implementing all these insightful ideas.
